72 Hours Outlook

The Atlantic high pressure system is dominant, allowing for fair to occasionally cloudy skies, breezy conditions and short lived shower activity across our islands. The probability of increasingly cloudy skies and showers increases from Thursday afternoon onward when a southward moving shearline is forecast to affect our islands. Saharan dust haze concentrations of varying intensities will also be noticeable across SVG during this forecast period.

Fresh to strong (~30-45 km/h) north easterly to east north easterly trades are crossing our islands. Wind speeds should temporarily decrease (~25-35km/h) on Wednesday.  Consequently, seas are moderate to rough in open waters with northerly swells peaking at 2.0m on the western coasts and near 3.0m on the eastern coasts. A small craft and high surf advisory remains in effect. Only vessels capable of withstanding swells of these magnitudes should venture out. Sea-bathers are also advised to stay out of the water.
