72 Hours Outlook
Although Tropical Storm Josephine maintained a west north-westward track north east of the Leeward Islands, instability associated with the system still managed to generate cloudy skies, occasional moderate showers and isolated thunderstorms across Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. In fact, within a two hour period this afternoon, just over an inch(~26.6mm) of rainfall was recorded at Argyle.
There is a good chance that additional showers can be experienced across the islands into Sunday morning. Although, a slight improvement is possible as the day progresses, unstable conditions will continue to dominate from Sunday night into Monday as a tropical wave inches closer to the island chain. Models are suggesting that this tropical wave could generate light to heavy showers, periods of rain and scattered thunderstorms across SVG late Monday heading into Tuesday. Residents and motorists in areas prone to flooding and landslides or near rivers and streams are advised to remain alert. The SVG Meteorological Services would continue to monitor the progress of the wave and provide the necessary updates.
