72 Hours Outlook

Weather Outlook- 16th August 2020 (12noon)

A weak shearline associated with Tropical Depression "Josephine" generated cloudy skies and triggered some scattered showers across SVG this morning. Occasionally fair conditions may be experienced at times during the afternoon, however lingering instability can allow for some sporadic shower activity. On Monday, a tropical wave inches closer to the island chain and models are suggesting that this feature has the potential to generate light to heavy showers, periods of rain and scattered thunderstorms across SVG around late evening and into Tuesday. On Wednesday, instability associated with the aforementioned tropical wave is still expected to bring significant showers to the islands. Residents and motorists in areas prone to flooding and landslides or near rivers and streams are advised to remain alert. The SVG Meteorological Services would continue to monitor the progress of the wave and provide the necessary updates.
